If you’re interested in volunteering with Guadalupe Valley Habitat for Humanity (individually or with a group) – sign up here! We offer volunteer opportunities for students, groups, and for individuals with court-ordered community service hours needed.
Volunteers can build homes (construction volunteers), provide lunches, serve as a volunteer assistant, work in our ReStore, and more.
Habitat builds homes year-round. We can get volunteers involved with construction from Thursdays and Saturdays, 7:45 am – 2:00 pm. No prior construction experience is needed for construction volunteers.
Proper attire will make your day more comfortable and enjoyable. Put your name on all of your belongings, as Habitat assumes no responsibility for lost, damaged or stolen items. There is no central place to store and secure personal belongings. Other suggested items are plastic drinking cups/water bottles, work boots or sneakers, gloves, wide-brimmed hat/visor, sunglasses and sunblock. We abide by our Age Regulations – check them out here.
If you are completing hours for school or an organization and need your hours of service verified by our Volunteer Services staff make sure you get your paperwork signed the day you are volunteering. If you do not have a form – we always have volunteer verification forms available in the office or on-site. Please note: that we do not keep long term tracking of volunteer hours — so make sure to get your verification form signed the day you serve your hours.
Everyone who wishes to volunteer must sign a volunteer waiver the first time they volunteer that year. Signed waivers are kept on file for that calendar year. Waivers are available at the construction site or you can print yours from the links below and bring it already filled out.
